Think it's totaled?

So I let my mother and father in law barrow my truck and car trailer to go from the Oregon coast to Idaho to pick up my father in laws 48 Ford F1 from the body shop. While over there they were visiting family and such. Today, I get a call from my father in law with bad news. He got the stomach flu and my mother in law was driving. He was sleeping in the passenger seat and she was driving. She fell asleep at the wheel, swerved across the other lane and side swiped a tree.



How bad is it? Think it's totaled? It doesn't look like there is damage to the frame, but the cab is pretty bad and the bed is done. Let me know what your thoughts are on it!

it might not be totaled just cab and bed damage but i would think as long as the frame and drivetrain is good you should be fine

I know I dont. IM hoping its totaled! Thats why IM trying to get opinions and see what everyone thinks. Its about 12 hours from me and I cant go physically look at it. Even if they did fix it, it wouldnt be worth half of what it was.

Thanks man. The important thing is no one was hurt to bad. A few cuts but nothing major.

No way, I going to assume all airbags went off, you have both DS doors, cab damage, bed damage. Plus something tells me there is damage on the front fender and the PS rear cab. And I would bet the only thing the stopped the tree from going in the bed any farther was the rear tire. But even without frame or drive train damage my guess is $13,000+.

There is a little damage to the front fender, front bumper, and the grill.

Yep, that's what happened to my last truck, both went off and they said she was a gonner.

Glad to hear that it sounds like everyone was okay. I don't have any technical knowledge about this sort of thing but I would have to say that it's totaled.

I completely understand. My 3.7 was my baby, then I got a quad cab hemi lol.

it looks like there is too much damage and if the air bags deployed its done...IMO...its fixable but the body lines would not match as perfect as they were and it would cost the insuance too much to get it fixed. end result = totaled
