Thinking about a torque converter any suggestions?

I would like to get a Tc for my 09, more or less I would be at the local strip every second weekend but mostly city driving, kinda want to smoke the tyres tho haha like anyone would want to. Would like suggestions and what people have and worked best for them thanks!

Do you do any towing or offroading? If not, I would go with a 3000-3200 stall converter. If you are towing or going offroad on occasion, then you want to stay closer to a 2800 stall speed.

What exactly does a torque converter do? For an everyday driver who tows (sometimes 8000 lbs) would it benefit me? Or is it just a go fast part? Lol I guess that would benefit me too
