2017 Ram 2500 crew cab. Talked to a Les Schwab guy who seemed pretty knowledgeable about going with 35’s and some new rims. He said I could go that high with stock offset without leveling/trimming/etc. true? Also, he said I can’t get a level with something like the Bilstein 5100’s and I’d have to use spacers. Also true? Thanks for any advice, trying to sift through all of the threads leaves me more confused...

I'm pretty sure the 2500 will fit 35's on stock offset wheels but I'm not so sure he's correct and think there might be a little rubbing at full lock. When you say "can't get a level with 5100's" do you mean you can't install a level on top of 5100's or that 5100's won't level the truck? They make 5100's for your truck and they will get you close to level set on the top setting. Spacers will also get you level, but I believe if you already have 5100's then you have to watch out using both unless you run the 5100's at stock height.

What exactly do you want to do? If you provide that info, you'll have more responses then you can shake a stick at.

Also a pic of your truck with your first post is a requirement.... :)

1500 or 2500?

If 1500 5100 series is all your need. some guys like to add a 3/4 to 1" inch rear spacer, if the go with full 2.8 front level because the truck Nose High design makes it look like it is squating, on the rear, if perfectly level.

I went with 2.1, still got plenty of rake for towing my boat. Though, I did add Tuftruck 1211 rear springs for extra stiffness. you cna get 1223V rate springs, gives ya 50% more spring weight carrying but OEM Car like RIde top portion of the spring.

You have a 2500. Sounds like you are thinking changing the shocks will gain height in the front (like a 1500), but this is not the case with a 2500.

You will either need longer coil springs or a spacer to level the front. There are many many many kits out there to do this.

Bilstein does sell a leveling kit for the front of your truck which consists of new coil springs and shocks.

Here is one...

Here is another with reservoir shocks...

You can fit 35x12.5 tires on stock wheels with slight rub on the radius arms

The level kit will get you a little more clearance, better look, and a better ride. We can get you set up with one of the great options posted above from Bilstein or set up from Thuren fabrication. both are great set ups and highly recommended.

I have 2.5 rough country level, bilsteins, 305/70-18 tires on +0 offset. Never rubs on full lock

SamP, I am running Rough Countrys 2.5 leveling kit, with their adjustable track bar ( the axle was pulled to the left when I installed the leveling kit), also their steering box support. I used Thurens caster angle adjustment, which took maybe half of the spring bow out. after approx 10,000 miles on this setup on a 16 2500 HD CC long bed, I have had no issues and the ride is just as good as before the level.

He has a 2500 he can’t use shocks to gain height. They don’t run coil overs.

Gotcha. I just used spacers on my 2500. I assumed the 5100's worked the same way as on 1500's. Sorry for the bad info OP.
