I have an '03 Hemi Ram and cleaned the throttle body and put it back how I found it the same way. Recently tried replacing the whole unit because of a Red Lightning Bolt, which sadly looks like an APP Sensor issue instead. Hard to find in Canada apparently.
Anyways... watched a few 3rd gen vids and noticed that half put the rubber ring inside the plastic housing then slide the housing up around the TB opening. Then the rubber pushes against the TB. That's what I did, though took a few attempts because the ring popped out while I got the angle right, so always wondering if it's in properly and no way to really see.
The other half of the videos, show them sliding the rubber ring around the outside of the TB itself, and then they attach the housing to the opening which I guess pushes against the rubber.
Which is correct? and would that affect/cause getting the Red Lightning TB error?
