Hello ,

I already did the tire research and by budget I’m in to 3 different brands. After reading alll the specs and reviews I am considering The Toyo Open Country, The Cooper AT or the Good Year Wrangler AT.

I would take in serious consideration any recommendations from this forum.

Thank you

I just made the decision to go with Cooper AT3s.

Have them on wife's truck and they're holding up very well.

I like the tread design and they work well in snow, wet and dry.

I don't know about mud.

Firestone Destination AT's.

I have them on my truck and Jeep right now and they are reasonably priced.

I went with Falken Wildpeak AT3 based on the reviews here. So far so good. Very good in the rain, and the few times I’ve driven through fields they gripped well.

Put them on right before my road trip from NJ to Myrtle Beach, SC. Still down there but performance has been great so far.

Current Ram came equipped with Yokohama G015 and had them on a previous truck. So far the best all round A/T tire I've had. Quiet for an aggressive tread and E rated, handle snow/rain/ice like a champ and the price was the best out of the tires I was looking at the time. The fact that this new truck came with them off the lot was a bonus. Did look at Falken and Firestone when I was in the market but like I said price was a big player for me. Lots of people say great things about the Cooper AT/3 but my experience was not positive, granted I bought the 1st gen AT/3 and I believe they have tweaked things a bit... but the old saying " Once bitten twice shy ".
Oh by the way did I mention they look good as well.

not a fan of duratracs, hated the yoko go15, and you couldn't pay me to install another Cooper on my vehicle

5734A6EE-CBF0-4FB7-B72B-E56AA3E7269E.jpeg I had Toyos on my last truck and loved them. That being said I just plugged a set of Mickey Thompson ATZP3’s on this truck and am amazed at the ride. Super quiet, extra stiff sidewalls and stick to the road.

I'm on my second set of atzp3's and while I love the performance and wear of them, they definitely arent quiet. Especially once they are worn. they arent as bad as a full on mud terrain, but they are very aggressive AT .

TOTALLY agree with you on Cooper. I know many love them and not all tire models are alike, but way too many recalls for tread separation for my taste on various tire lines.

Coming from Toyo M/T’s on my last truck (which were super loud) these MIckeys are much quieter. I’ve only got a few hundred miles on them so I’ll take your word for it on after they wear. As it is now, I have to roll down my window to really hear them.

If you have the coin, Nitto Terra Grapplers will get you what you pay for in overall value. 70k miles+ is common and they are the most dynamic truck tire available from 116T all the way to heavy duty 125R.

Toyo/Nitto are elite in their R&D with quality testing, so you’ll pay but they stand by their manufacturing process.

it's funny that way, I think they build a quality tire, a bad batch can hit any company, look at Firestone, 1 batch over 4 weeks, coupled with wrong specs from Ford on the explorer, and disaster strikes.

my beef with cooper is traction, offroad and more importantly snow/ice. they were horrible

yep. but when my in between the treads cracked on all 4 Discoverers on both the inner and outs on the tires..I was horrified when I saw how many Cooper tires have this issue (and yet no recall on mine..go figure) anyhew, I agree on the traction in snow and ice in spite of the tread. hard rubber i guess and all season ATs i believe, not all weather. I won't make that mistake again.

I have a set of NItto Terra Grapplers in 285/75/16 on my 1500 4x4 and they have been great, they have bout 25,000 on them now and appear to have about half of the tread left. This is a pic when they were new. They work pretty well in snow and mud for an A/T.
