Just showing off a little project.

1 can VHT Niteshades.

1 can of clear enamel.

2000 grit sandpaper

Painters tape

Utility knife etc

End goal was to match the smoked 3rd brake light.

5 coats of tint and 4 coats of clear later.

Tinted tails - or any lights really - seems to be counter intuitive. Why would you want you lights to be dimmer?

I would assume looks. My tint guy has a light measuring tool and said that tinted LED taillights are actually still brighter then non tinted incandescent lights. If it wasn't illegal here, id do it but understand why some people don't get it.

Same argument when I had my Harley, a lot of guys remove the non-required lights and reflectors, bought smaller ones, and other items for appearance purposes.

Correct I painted them to match the rest of the vehicle. All good questions though.

Here is one more pic at 8pm in AZ where the sun is going down. As you can see the LED's are easily viewable.

I was concerned initially and ready to order a new pair just in case but I'm happy with the results.

I just need to sand the clear, use some rubbing compound and buff
