I have a 2012 ram 1500. I have recently replaced the TIPM (less than a week ago) and the fuel pump (however I had driven on the fuel pump with a bad tipm for about 1200 miles (Maybe that killed the new fuel pump?) My fuel pump now is constantly running even when the truck is off and only stops whenever I remove the M25 fuse. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if they know what the fix is and if it's possible to fix myself. The truck will also have a crank but no start when first starting it after leaving it for a while. It will eventually start up after priming the key a few times.

Sounds like the fuel pump relay in your new tipm may be stuck closed. Unfortunately, I believe the fuel pump relay is soldered onto the mainboard in the TIPM. Your options would be to pull the TIPM apart and re-solder a new relay onto the board, or to relocate the relay.

There was a recall some time back on Durangos, Grand Cherokees and some Rams that required dealers to relocate the fuel pump relay. The same procedure would work for your truck.

Has this been happening since you installed the new TIPM, or did the new one work normally for awhile before this issue started?

What was the issue that prompted you to replace the old TIPM? Do you still have the old TIPM?

Replaced my old TIPM due to the same issues basically since the new tipm has been installed i've noticed no difference in the fuel pump at all besides maybe it runs smoother but still issues with everything else as before

^ I had to get the TIPM replaced at dealership so they have the old one. Would this be something I could get them to do for me for free? would it be covered under the warranty or not?

the same issues basically

So, "basically", means the same problem? Or different?

That with the old TIPM, the fuel pump also stayed on all the time? Even with the truck off, and you had to pull the fuse to shut it off? With these kind of problems, the details matter.

Because if so, 2 TIiPMs in a row aren't likely to have had the same exact problem.

This points to a short in the fuel pump or wiring harness. the harness needs to be inspected, especially around the fuel tank area.

I'm sure they would do it, but no one likes working for free. However, if there is a damaged harness or broken wire somewhere, the relay relocate won't help.

These aren't difficult things to test, but they are very difficult to test over the internet. You need a competent shop that doesn't use a parts cannon.

Replaced my old TIPM due to the same issues

Fuel pump stuck on and the parts cannon approach failure reminds me of post from @K3lt3c

I remembered it, but it took about 15 minutes of searching to find it.

Read post# 12, it'll give you an idea of what to look for.

Thread '2017 Ram 1500 Fuel Pump Won't Shut Off' https://www.ramforum.com/threads/2017-ram-1500-fuel-pump-wont-shut-off.215451/

But, since pulling the fuse DOES disable your fuel pump, IF it's a wiring problem, that kinda points to the problem being upstream of the TIPM, not downstream.

Edit to add: make sure your fuel pump fuse is the correct amperage rating. If you had a short in the fuel pump circuit, or for some reason it is drawing more current than it's supposed to, the fuse is supposed to blow before the relay melts. If some ******* replaced the fuse with a higher current fuse, an over current issue could weld the relay contactor closed, and ruin every TIPM you install.
