tire costs & good prices

where do yall go for tires? and what are you paying for a set?

I'm looking at a set of the Nitto 420's in a 305/45/22. America's Tire here in the Bay Area, Ca is pricing me a set of these mounted & balanced for $900 out the door. ($186 each)

That price also includes taking the existing 20" wheels off, demounting the tires to retrieve to TPMS sensors, and then mounting the tires back onto the wheel again so I can sell them easier...(instead of having the wheel & tire separated)

Is that an OKAY price?

i have bought tires from them...and 900 sounds about right for those tires.

You have more options than anything I have in rural Idaho.
I have purchased BFG's from Costco locally and they honor their warranty and have decent prices.

I've been burned at Sears, LesSchwab, Walmart, and American Car Care. I'll NEVER give them another penny. Funny that they all sell a warranty but don't know how to honor one.

I've thought of purchasing from Discount Tire Direct and Tire Rack through their online store. Most warranties don't hold up anyway so may as well get them at a better price.

So they're charging about $100 for labor for all that? Sounds pretty good to me. Is their a "warranty" and "recycling" fee or are you taking the old tires back?

thats a good deal if you buy offline they can be found for 750 but then you have to balance and mount them which evens out so for 900 might as well do them in town.

Thats actually a great price for how much rubber has gone up in the last couple of years. Considering most of the tires out there for 20s are over 200 bucks a tire.

You could always buy an extra set of tpms and then you don't have to hassle with the unmounting and remounting. i paid $60 on eBay for all 4.
