My vehicle information screen shows the tire pressure for each tire. But how does the computer know which tpms transmitter is in which position? Or does it not? When I rotated the tires doesn't the computer loose track of which tire is where?

The info screen seems to show the four tires in a pattern. But I'm not sure the grid on the screen matches the actual location of the sensors. I guess I could test it out with a pressure gauge... But it might be months before I have a spare 20 mins.

It’s smart and knows which wheel goes where. No need to give another thought.

Older vehicles with TPMS did require you to "program" the location of the sensors when rotating the tires. However most vehicles made in the last several years can automatically tell where each tire/sensor is after rotating them. I'm not 100% sure on the technology but likely the receiver(s) that pick up the signals from the sensors can tell how far away they are and use that to determine the wheel position.

I agree with Daw14. When I rotate the tires on my 2013 Ram, or the wife's 2016 Jeep Wrangler, I will purposely drop pressure on a tire. The EVIC shows me every time where it is. Must be "magic"....
