What tire pressure do you guys run in your 1500s with 35s?

Keeping both on road comfort and tread wear in mind as well as the fact that most 35s are 10 ply Load Range E tires that suggest 60-80 psi for heavy duty trucks usually.

Thanks

I ran 41 psi on my last set of 35x12.50x20 Nitto MT's and they lasted 40k, even wear and had about 6/32 or so depth left when I took them off. Not towing, just daily driving. I'm trying 43 psi on my new set. So far so good.

I’ve had 45-48 in mine currently but I felt like they were a little potted out and they sound like they have a lot of resistance when I start moving. Maybe it’s the new General Grabber ATX design but I felt like they needed to get aired up more. I’m going to put more air in them and see how it rides to work tomorrow and adjust from there.

Mine are only 34's but are "E" rated. I've been running 50 in the front an 48 in the rear. I started out in the low 40's but when I bumped it up my MPG went up also. They seem to be wearing even, and the ride is fine by my standards so I stick with where there at.

I've been searching around for answers to this myself. I have Nitto Trails 275/65/20 and had them rotated and balanced the other day. They had 50-52PSI in each which I thought was crazy high. So I lowered it down to around 42PSI each, but now the rear seems out of balance. Does 52PSI cause any wear issues or safety concerns when driving 300+ miles nonstop on a trip? I have one coming up.

It shouldn’t, I’ve got mine at 60 right now I’m my 1500. The tire side wall on mine says max 65 and most 2500/3500 pickup trucks are supposed to be 60 at all 4 tires and 80 rear if it’s a dual rear wheel with heavy duty body or towing applications.

I actually think mine is riding great at 60 and getting better MPGs but I will monitor tire wear closely.

Yea mine is rated for 80 max, so I'm gunna jump back up to 50 and do the chalk test on them. I have a 1500 so our stock ratings won't be the same.

Mine is also a 1500. I’m just experimenting with different tire pressures right now.

I wouldn’t say you’re too low, I’ve just always felt that E rated 10 ply tires should have more pressure in them even if they are on a lighter vehicle.

Hmmm mines are e rated 10 ply. I figured with my 6 powered 1500.. 35 would be ok. I was using them with 42 all around but was getting some vibration at 60mph. So I lowered them to 35. Shimmy at 60mph lessened quite a bit.

I would say whatever works for you is good then. I’m just curious to see what everyone else is doing. I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer just opinion.

I had mine at 45 and I’ve been dealing with an awful vibration at 60+ mph.

I’m actually going to the tire shop tonight to have the rear tires roadforce balanced and they are going to replace whichever tire is either out of round or vibrates worse/ has a high spot as they put it.

I raised them to 60 psi of Friday but I have not been on the highway yet to see if they still vibrate at 60+

Anyone using balancing beads ? I read somewhere it cures the shimmy at 60mph
