I am looking around at some different tire options, and these tires called Ironman All-Country MT keep coming up in my search. I am looking for a reliable A/T tire that will perform well off-road, but also has good road manners. I am running the Cooper ST Maxx now, and have been fairly pleased with them, but most places Im looking online appear to be out of stock. I have also been eyeing the Nitto Ridge Grappler because my dad has a set and likes them. But, the Ironman tires are considerably cheaper, and the reviews are mostly positive. To me they look like a BFG KM2, but I dont think BFG makes them. Just looking for anyone who has run these tires, especially on a 2500 or 3500, that has a review, either good or bad. Usually I would stick to the major names that I have experience with, but the price on the Ironman has me tempted to try them.

$800 vs. $1500.

What say the consensus?

check out Toyo R/T's. great on road manners and good off road as well. Tough tire which on a heavy truck is important.

Is this the thread where we all check in with what kind of tire we're running right now?

The Nitto Ridge Grapplers rock...but of you want a "milder" AT, look at Nitto Terra Grappler G2.

When I worked at Big O Tires those Ironman mts were horrible .... a lot of separation and out round ... if you don't mind a rough and noisy ride stay away from them ..... go with the Ridge Grapplers

Thats the kind of input I am looking for. Thanks. Had a couple students run them, but they don’t care about road noise or rough ride. As I get older I have begun to appreciate a smoother, quieter ride.

Hey Graygoose, if you dont mind, what size rim and tire setup do you have? Nice stance and I am looking to get 22's and want the tire width a little outside the fenders but really like the look you got going

After running Patagonia MTs for only 9k miles I'm convinced my next tires from here on would be from known brands. Pay a little more but you can roll on them for a lot longer. I didn't save chit by going cheap because I'll have to dump them at 25k miles and get brand new ones literally doubling my cost in just 50k miles. Any of the good brand in ATs should be able to last 50k miles and you're just paying once for them.

I'm currently running Firestone XT's on my 3500. I like them in the winter driving up here. They're not noisy and do really good in the snow.

On my 1500 I had Nitto Terra Grappler G2's. Good riding tire, not noisy and wore good.

As others suggested, Falken Wildpeaks, Toyo's, BFG. Don't over look General Grabbers. I'm looking at the General APT's for the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 I'm going to buy for my eldest son.

They look like a pretty decent tread.

I have the toyo r/t tires on mine. So far I like them. I have only had them 5 days. They did well in the heavy rain yesterday. I can’t wait to try them in some dirt.

My girlfriend had Ironman tires on her Mazda 2. Those things wore out in like 10k miles. Slick as snot, even new.
