Not sure if this is the correct place for this question. if not please let me know . But my question is, I have 19 classic. with the 17" wheels. it has 265/70r17 on it rite now. I want to go a little wider tire without having to lift/level the truck. would a 285/70r17 fit and not rub?

I’m running 285/70R17s on my ‘19 classic with no problems. It is a factory tire size for the Rebel. Your rims though are an inch narrower than recommended for that tire size.

I have a 2020 tradesman 2500 4 crew cab with 4 wheel drive. I have these dinky 245/70R/17 on it. What is the biggest size I can go without rubbing or a lift?

Depends on your wheels width. If you have 17x7 wheels you can run that size but your tires may wear down funny. Some tire shops won’t mount the size because the wheels wouldn’t meet the min width requirement for the tire.
With 17x7 wheels a pizza cutter tire would be more beneficial for example 255/80/17 are basically same height as 285/70/17 but narrower so you’ll have better contact patch on those wheels.
