Hi there I have a 1999 Dodge ram 1500 Laramie SLT truck 5.9 l quad cab. Some recent thing has been happening while I was driving and it would be the truck shaking while about 20 to 50 mph it would feel as if I have a flat tire or there alignment is off. I had some friends look while I'm driving by to see if they can see anything happening with my tire or tires and I was told that my front driver side tire shakes. What exactly does that mean that I need??!

@cac585285 , not sure how bad your problem is, but one thing to consider: if it started happening suddenly, check to see if the tire balance weight has fallen off. That's probably the easiest thing to check first. If you don't see it, go have a tire shop re-balance it and put on a new weight. If not, try swapping the tire in question with one of the other ones to see if the problem follows the tire. Keep investigating! Good luck.

Well, that could be cause by a whole raft of things, from bending a rim hitting a pothole, throwing wheel weights, loose lug nut - first thing I would check, to front suspension issues or a raft of other things. Start with the simplest, check the lug nuts, then jack up the Tire and spin it by hand to see if the rim is bent, then get the tires balanced, and work to the more complicated, expensive stuff.

Welcome to the forum.

You're saying your friends saw it shaking while you slowly drove by? That should be pretty easy for you to identify. Like @Dean2 suggested, first check the lug nuts on that wheel. If they're tight, raise the wheel and spin it to check for a bent wheel. From there it could be something more significant like a wheel bearing, ball joints, control arm/bushings, loose or broken shock. Had you done any recent work at all on tires or brakes?

Have a friend rock the steering wheel back and forth while you lay on the ground and watch the tie rod ends to look for play. You should also jack it up and check for play at the wheel for a bad bearing or ball joints. Chances are all 3 are wore out! Don't drive it until you figure it out.

As mentioned

1st, lift teh turck, grab the tire adn push pull in and out to see if bearing is bad.

then check lug nuts are tight. next, check suspenion and sterring components.

after that switch tire location, if problem moves, rebalance tire and rim

if problem stays put, tow it to shop for inspection.

Broken belt in one or more of your tires? They look fine, but when they are running down the road they fail.
