Hey you guys, I know it seems like I might have just joined the forum to get answers and leave, and to be honest I kinda did. But in the near future I will be inheriting my grandfathers 98 ram 1500, and he is talking about throwing 39.5x14.5xr15 on his truck that has only a 7 inch lift. Will he be able to fit these on his truck? Any and all answers and help is greatly appreciated.

40s? Nope. 37s? Yep.

And unless he has Dana 60 axles, that thing will chew through front end parts like crazy.

Not sure. If he/you want to drive it... I'd advise 35 12.5 or 36 12.5 or 13.5 anything bigger is a waste of money and many many front end parts.

Alright thanks, I'm not quite sure if he has the Dana 60s or not. He's had the truck for about ten years and its been lifted the whole time so, from what I've seen he's only had to replace anything in the front end on one occasion, which was after an accident, but while I'm at it. The starring response in my/ his truck is terrible and I mean god aweful. Would any of y'all have any thoughts as of to what that's from?

Yeah worn out steering parts, bad trac-bar, worn out steering box, bad unit bearings ETC. You need to go through the whole front end and see what's worn out and replace them.
