Yes, its older, but does the job, has low miles and is reliable?
Tell me why are we having this conversation?
What is it that you don't like about the truck?
Here was my thought process regarding my wife's 2008 Solara Convertible.
- It came with all the extras. Nice car, but it has 110k or so miles and is kind of old.
- But... No car payment.
- At 20,000 miles Toyota had to replace the transmission, since then only maintenance.
- She likes the car. But in the last 5 years maintenance has started costing us a bit. $1,500 for a new top. New seals and steering parts on front end. Shocks. Another grand....
- Plus the 12 year old top of the line navigation/radio kind of sucks today and front leather seats are worn.
- Trade in value is pretty good. Last I looked it was worth more than a couple of years ago. What's that about? Might be good time to trade.
- So... how much is a newer 4 seat convertible? Holy Crap!.... What was I thinking? I think we might find a new radio and get the seats repaired and drive it another 12 years and 110,000 miles.
