Ordered a new Gator Tri-Fold tonneau cover yesterday. Step-son ordered one and the box said Made in the U.S.A. so I went and ordered one.

Let us know how you like it. I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on the Gator tri fold hybrid. Thanks!

They had 2 different soft tri-folds. One was $211 and the other was $280. I got the one for $280. Not sure what the difference is. Step-son bought the hard tri-fold that was about $650. He likes it. I helped him install it. Seem like good quality

Got the tonneau cover yesterday and installed it. Seems to be a little better quality and fit than my old Tonneau Pro. The old one had small bulges where the hinges were. This one is pretty flat and harder to notice the hinges. When I opened the box there was a tag inside saying thanks for buying your Extang product so wondering if they make the Gators? This one seems to be a little tighter clamping too. My old one had just a little bounce at the back corners but this one seems pretty solid. Total was $296. About the same as I paid for my Tonneau Pro back in 2013.

I just ordered the Gator EFX hard tri-fold (same as your stepson) and it is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I did a lot of research (I can't stop myself) and this seemd like the best option that didn't cost $1,000. I should be able to install it by the weekend and will let you know how it goes. BTW, this is also a replacement for a Tonneaupro cover that had been on there since truck was new but the cover got stiff and a lot of the threads have pulled out but it's been on there for 6 years and I didn't do anything special to it. I decided to get the hard cover this time to eliminate any of the (minor) wind noise from the old soft cover.

I had a Tonneau Pro on my old truck for about 6 years and it held up good but yeah the threads started pulling. I bought the Gator soft Tri-Fold for my current truck and I'm happy with it. My step-sons hard cover took about 1-2 hours to install

I installed the Gator EFX hard tri-fold this past Sunday. It probably took me close to 3 hours but I'm older and slower than some of the younger guys. It was fairly simple to install. The only minor issue I had was the positioning of the top. If I pushed it flush up against the bed bulkhead, the forward two clamps wouldn't clip to the rail. The top needs to be slid back maybe 1/2" to allow them to fit. I also had to go back and loosen the rail clamps and lower the rail slightly so that the back of the cover would seal to the tailgate.

No big deal on any of that since I would expect to have to do that with any hard cover. All in all, it looks great and I'll have to see how it holds up, keeps out the rain, etc.

I purchased a Tonno Pro for around $220 shipped to my door, customer service on latches that I over tightened was exceptional, free replacement two tears later and shipped free, this cover still holding up after being in El Paso, Tx and now in Corpus Christi, just my IMHO.
