I'm curious about the difference between the aluminum vs the fiberglass reinforced polymer material of tonneau covers. In particular, how hot does the aluminum get under full sunlight exposure? Does it limit your ability to manipulate it? How much of this heat makes its way into the truck bed? The reason I'm asking is because I want to avoid melting my wife's cosmetics if she puts it in her luggage on a long drive. Bak Roll X experience greatly appreciated as I am leaning towards this item for my bed. Being proactive on this one.

You're going to want to get a small suitcase for your wife to put cosmetics in and keep that in the cab. I've had a variety of covers and they all get hot underneath.. potentially very hot. A truck cap with windows that you can open would likely be much cooler...
