So I ran a [email protected] Friday. A GMC Sierra with intake exhaust and sct ran a 15.2@92. How do we run almost the same time but his trap speed is quite a bit higher? Do I have more low end power and his truck has more top end power?

Nice Looking Truck...These QC's are Heavy, but a well thought out Cam can get you Pulled right up into those 6400/6500 RPM shifts.

Wheel spin off the line will also trap a higher MPH. Do you have the slips to compair?

I've noticed with my cutout open, I lose a lot of torque

The cutout being open will make more power all around as long as you have the other mods to support it. My 03 ran a 13.9 @ 99mph with just an intake, superchips, longtubes, and an open cutout before the cat. Pull your air filter off at the track and build a scoop that will pull in fresh air from the front of your truck or under the bumper. I would also manually shift between 6000-6100 rpms.

Your mods are at the point to go cammed unless you wanna go verter and gears and keep out of the motor.

I just got the headers. I think I'm gonna get a 2800 stall and vb next. I want to have everything covered when/if I get a cam.

The headers are going to be a big help. Before doing the converter, you want to at least have an idea of what size cam you want to run in the future. A 2800 stall speed is a happy medium that will work with just about any cam though, so you should be fine there.

I talked to Stu@inertia about a Spartan cam. He's the one who recommended getting headers and a stall first.

Headers are going to be a big help with the cam. With you wanting a 2800 stall, you will be fine with that Spartan. The 2800 stall converters are a great medium that work well with just about any cam choice.

I wasn't sure if i should go 2800 or 3000. What would be a better stall speed for that cam?

2800 will be perfect for that cam.

Cool thanks with the help Matt. I'll def be callin when I'm ready for the stall an vb. My inspection is out in Feb so I'm probably going to wait til then to install the headers. That gives me a year to get the Cel takin care of.

What gears are you running? My 4x4 QC ran a 14.9 with CAI, headers, exhaust, and a Superchips canned tune w/o the trans tune....and I ran on 20s with 3:92 rear. Something sounds off...
