The cheapest and best way is to get Tim brinds and weight distribution hitch. I have a 2017 & 2019 Laramies. You will like the installation, no air involved. Plus they don't wear out. They are great, 10 thousand trailer weight. Excellent ride and control at any speed.

Cheapest perhaps though cheapie in coil bag setups can be had for $100. Best?.. doubtful. Maybe if you highly value the fact that you don't have to add air and they won't lose air. Its both their strength and weakness. Excellent ride and control?.. No only better than what you have known. And that has more to do with the use of your WDH.

A quality axle to frame bag setup with proper use of a WDH is hands down better.. An airbag is quickly adjustable to what is actually needed to support and control the suspension as well as dampen and better the ride. No more rear suspension wobble jump & wallow under a heavy load over rough rutted road. The Timbren bump stop does none of this. In fact with an empty bed the bump stop can cause a harsh bounce over a speed bump or washboard road. Improving the trucks stance or "to fix sag" for towing is a side benefit of air bags despite that many buy them for that purpose.

The Timbren bump stop is just less harsh than a solid rubber bump stop. Certainly over time you may need to have a line or fitting replaced with even a quality axle to frame air bag setup. In the last 6 years and 660,000 miles transporting TTs commercially for the Mfgrs with my 2014 1500 Ecodiesel I've only once had to do a simple inexpensive line replacement.

I'm spoiled and not broke. If my truck had Timbren bump stops they would end up in the dumpster and she would be properly retrofitted with an axle to frame air bag setup. Not trying to disrespect you or poke you in the eye its nothing personal just a different opinion.

Two of my favs

Vern,

It's more than your opinion. What you said is factual. I only have 69 years of towing and still learning but I can, with confidence, say you are 100% correct.

You probably tow more miles in a year than I've towed in 69 years, thus I listen to you and respect your experience and knowledge. Keep teaching us all.
