This is common place for my truck. Granted if I was that worried about it I wouldn't have a truck as a dd since I have a office job. but the difference between 18-20 mpg and my normal 24-26ish adds up quick at 2 tanks a week.Mine has the 3:92’s and if I keep my foot out of it and drive it a lot more like a normal person; I may not be able to get as good of fuel mileage as yours does empty but, it’s not too far behind. If I drove a heck of a lot more highway miles and not near so many city miles, I could average real close to 18. But that’s all my truck knows, is really short, city-mile trips as my work is only less than 5 minutes away from my home and for the most part my truck hardly ever sees any real highway miles. Are usually only average about 14 miles per gallon every couple weeks when I have to go get fuel.
Typo???How the heck did you pull 26? Dont think I've ever seen over 21 in our 1500!
My Limited gets 10 or a little better towing 9000#, same as my '05 Duramax did. Just the way it is.That's the mileage everything gets when towing. 7 to 10 gpm.
Typo???
On the highway in the 65mph range I get 26MPG. Last fall I went to Hershey and back from northern NJ that included driving to the hotel and local roads. My MPG for the whole trip was 23.
I have a 18 Express quad cab, 6.4' bed, 20" wheels, 5.7l, 8 speed and 3.21 rear. I left the MDS on as well.
When I did the same trip this spring with MDS off based on this group I was lucky to get 18MPG.
I pull a 24/27' regularly with my '18 1500 CC 5.7 Outdoorsman 4X4 with Airlift 1000HD bags. 2 of us with (4) 40lb dogs, 3000w genny, 112 litres spare fuel and too much extra cargo.I pulled a 26
Just for info...what was the speed limit?Nope. I was following him when he was towing the trailer. Went the speed limit the whole way. It was about 90% highway on PA turnpike (I-76)
