A lot of people seem to push the tow limits on their trucks. I'm not personally a fan of that.
Towing more than your vehicle is rated for can be dangerous (in sometimes less than obvious ways). It's very hard on your drive train, your braking system, and it's illegal to boot.
If you ever get caught by a vehicle inspection, the fines can be significant. Though it's rare they check non-commercial vehicles.
Someone suggested air bags, but they are only going to increase your payload, and help with max. tongue weight.
If you only plan on towing 4-7k, my advice would be to stick with that plan. Why push it and wish you hadn't?
My personal rule is 80% of tow cap. for regular towing. A bit higher for rare occasions. But that's just me.
I didn't realize the tow capacity on the 2010's was so much lower than the new ones. My 1500 is rated for 10,300lbs.
