Last tire question I promise! I think I'm finally down between these two tires in a 33x12.5r20 for a set of 20x10s. I have a 1500 Lone Star that will more than likely not ever go off-road and I drive quite a bit on the highway. I'm looking for something with minimal road noise but something that I won't have to replace quickly.

I have had no experience with General but I am running the Toyo AT3's on one of my vehicles now. I have ran them for a few thousands miles and they ride quiet and smooth. Great dry and wet traction. They still look like new as well. Also I think they have a great look for an AT.

+1 for the Toyos.

I have their CT's and they're quieter than most AT's I've had. Their AT's are quieter than mine.

Made in the USA as well (at least mine are)

I forgot to mention one major plus for anyone considering the toyo AT3s that live were it snows. They are awesome in the snow. We got hammered last week with nearly 3' of snow in one day and I was out in the storm a few times and was able to drive with confidence. They handled the snow as good if not better than Duratracs which if you dont know is a great tire in the snow

I run Toyo at3’s on my truck and own a tire shop so naturally I’m practicing what I preach
I have run Toyo at2, at3 and R/T and Toyo really is better :). on my power wagon R/T's are my choice. I ran all three on my jeeps.

The AT2 extreme was an awesome tire don’t know why they bagged it on the AT3 line but we do the AT3 and RT the most with nothing but happy customers

it just needed an update most likely. My one and only issue with the AT2 and AT3 in 35's they run a bit short, I ran AT2 in 285/70-17, 285/75-16, 285/75-17 and 35/12.5-17 . I have run 3 sets of R/T's in 35's. I wish the AT3 had a 37" in 17". that would be the hot ticket for me on a power wagon.

The AT3 has a lot more features than the AT2 and road manners are better.

At3 also adds 3 peak snowflake. Funny the centre tread blocks look a lot like the BFG. I've been really happy with toyo in the past. Never run general though so I can't compare.

I was down to these two tires as well about 3 months ago. Almost went ATXs as I really wanted the AT3s in 35x11.5 and they where on back order. However my AT2s lasted me 60,000 miles. That coupled with the fact the AT3s had the 3 peak snow rating really made it difficult for me to try a different brand.

All of that said. Chicago area has had a lot of snow, slush, sub zero temps lately and the tires have handled it all well and predictable.

I replaced Toyo R/T's with the General Grabber ATX. The Toyo's never held a balance and almost got me killed in the snow. The Grabbers have been nothing short of fantastic in the snow. They also have zero road noise.

3" of snow is being dumped on? My wife's little Nissan Versa gets around fine in 3" of unplowed snow just fine (General AT tires). Here in northern Illinois the snow plows don't even run on a 3" snowfall.

I put General Grabber ATs on my 87 Bronco back in the day. Quiet, good handling, and I could go places in 2wheel drive that I couldn't with the stock Goodyear Wrangler ATs.

Not to throw any monkey wrenches into your thinking but I just bought a set of Copper Discoverer AT3 xlt's and they are quiet and ride well and look great on my 20 Patriot Blue Limited with a 5" lift. 35-12.50-20 I also got a much better price on them from the local tire shop over both the Toyo and the General and last but nt least the Coopers are USA made too!
