What's the typical lifespan of a TPMS sensor?
I have a 2012 with 60K miles, and the "service tire pressure system" message just popped up the other day. I noticed the little low tire warning light the other day, and checked all the tires. All were good, and I thought maybe it was just the cool morning making the sensor act up.

Now, it's not showing pressures from any of the tires, and is displaying the service message. How likely is it that all 4 sensors died within a few days of each other? Is there any way to turn off the tpms?

thanks,
muddy

I have 2008 vehicles with original and working TPMS. Usually its the sensor battery that wears down, but all four? Most tire shops will check the sensors for free. They have a little hand held receiver that they take from tire to tire and read the sensor . I don't think there is a way to disable the TPMS on a 1500, but 2500s and 3500s may.

I'd be more inclined to think it's an issue with the truck side of the tpms rather than 4 separate tire sensors to fail at the same time.

Well, that's not what I was hoping to hear, but thanks for the info.
I need to get new tires soon anyway, guess I'll have the shop check things out while they have the wheels off.
