Have a 17 longhorn and am looking at going to an 18 longhorn. Not sold on new body so want to stay with 4th gen. For the heck of it also looked at f150's. Drove an ecoboost 3.5 plat and 5.0 plat and a king ranch 5.0. Observations: The f 150 cab is a bit larger. The hemi imho is a better engine than both of the fords in seat of pants realm, it comes on strong sooner than both, eb has turbo lag and accelerates quicker from what I could tell. The 5.0 was my choice over ecoboost as just not a fan and it felt "better"? But the coyote does not feel strong tell 2500-3000rpm plus which is where it is rated to. Granted I have 3.92's and they were both 3.55's but would not trade hemi for those. Ride: disappointed in the f 150's as felt a lot of road "chatter" and seems to have a bit more wind noise than ram. Even though my air suspension is not riding great now, feels like have a wheel out of balance and when hit bumps or road seams it vibrates like an echo still would not switch which is why looked at trading in first place. Interior, my longhorn is a better appointed setup with much nicer finishes. Towing on the f 150 is a bit higher but if going to tow that heavy would buy a super duty as gas mileage sucks. Overall would not give up the longhorn hemi for an f 150 5.0. Like the looks of the f 150 a lot but not that much. Will be trading for an 18 southfork longhorn if can get right deal set up identical to mine.
