My 2012 1500 came with the factory trailer mirrors. I didn't care for the look so I put the standard mirrors on. Now I just got an 8.5 wide enclosed trailer and need big mirrors occasionally. Has any one had any success with any strap on or clamp on mirrors that are made specifically to fit the standard ram mirror?

Put your factory tow mirrors back on and be done with it.

With no other options the **** slip on and other clip on mirrors are ok and better than nothing at all, but they tend to vibrate a lot and are at times usless.

The OEM trailer tow mirrors are far superior to any of the slip/clip on aftermarket mirrors

I use these: Fit System Black 80710 Towing Mirror Ram 1500 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AFV7DI6/
They work well, don't move around, and look decent for a slip on mirror. I tow a 28' enclosed trailer, no issues with visibility. If I towed more I'd possibly consider switching to Trail Ridge power fold tow mirrors.

I have similar slide on mirrors. Work fine.

Even the factory tow mirrors are marginal for 102" trailers. My toy hauler is 102" plus the awning on the curb side, and I have zero visibility down the right side of the trailer for passing or merging. For curb clearance for right turns I can only use the spot mirror, which is pretty small for my eyes. Due to the mounting position and angle, the right side mirror has less reach than the left.

I use the same ones. I like them and they look good. They vibrate a little but only a little. Other than that they don't move.

I have a set of these. They work pretty well but I got tired of snapping them on/off. Upgraded to Trail Ridge tow mirrors. Offset the cost a lot by selling factory mirrors on eBay. The tow mirrors are nice, but not as big an improvement in visibility over clip on as I’d hoped.

The clip on mirrors are for sale if you want them :)

Agreed. They should have more reach. The ones without the large blind spot mirrors like i had on my 1997 2500 were.much better.

None as good as the factory trailer tow.mirrors my 1999 Ford superduty had. Those were by far and away the best.

I towed my sons 27' camper with my 2013 1500 with regular mirrors and had no problem. 200 mile trip on the highway. I would have rather had tow mirrors but made do with what I had. Just bought a 2018 2500 Outdoorsman but it doesn't have tow mirrors either. Those will be on my list for upgrades
