ok so heres the problem. i have a 2001 ram 1500 5.9 liter 137xxx miles. the tranny acts as if it hesitates to shift between gears and when driving its almost like a small shutter or chug but not very often just occasionally. Also has a rough idle. nothing bad but drops maybe 200 or rises 200 RPM just enough you can feel it. Driving the tranny when its cold sometimes it'll shift just fine other times its almost worst. Any idea what could be the problem before i start dumping money into what the mechanics wanna think is wrong? any help would be very appreciated thanks :)

Might be a clogger or block cat. you can try taking out the o2's and seeing if it runs better with some pressure relief. Had this happen on an 02 dodge work van and it got so bad the trans wouldnt shift outa first at all.

Not sure what trans shudder or shift issues have to do with 02 sensors...

Here's what i'd do. First clean your throttle body and Idle speed selenoid. That might fix your idle. Now...if it does the 200 rpm surge thing in gear, you need to test and probably replace your tps (throttle position sensor).

Whens the last time the tranny has been serviced? If you don't know or can't remember I'd start with that. Have your bands adjusted with the filter change and make sure the tech cleans your trans line check valve and flushes the cooler. Shudder can be caused by contaminated or wrong fluid.

Did it help your problem after replacing the 3 sensors?
