Transmission and Transfer Case rebuild kits???

Looking to get them rebuilt after tax season and was wondering if anyone would recommend a certain manufacturer of kit over others. Looking for a good kit to help both last another 185,000 miles!

My transmission guy at work said he'll do it for 300 bucks but I want get a badass kit to have him put in it

I've rebuild my '96 NV4500 as well as quitea few xfer cases (NP231, NV241LD, 241HD, 242, and a couple non Chrysler ones. They're cake, for the most part.

you doing a VB and TC upgrade, or already have that?

I plan on getting an upgraded TC but whats a VB? and would you suggest a certain torque converter?

VB = Valve Body

I don't have an auto, and the one I did have, I converted it to a 5speed.

My buddy runs auto transmissions in all his trucks. I cant remember which, but I know he runs a billet triple-disc TC. I'll find out for you.

That would be sweet, and just before you posted that I realized VB. *palm to forhead* haha
I know the 46RE's don't have the rep. for being a great automatic transmission but I'd love to have a good reliable transmission that won't crap out on me from towing/hauling.
Any input from him would be awesome as I have no clue what all I should upgrade in it?!?!?

If you're not going big power with it, then most likely an upgraded VB/TC combo should be sufficient; possibly a pump and clutch-packs.
