At 65k miles my 2017 2500 Power wagon, my transmission failed, heater core failed and radio failed all in the same week. Coincidence or is this something else that caused these issues?

Also with transmission, I can’t get parts: torque converter or retainer for clutch pack. Any thoughts or help on being able to get those parts. Been waiting a month and even have a case with Chrysler and they just say “can’t do anything.” Andof course no warranty since it ends at 60k miles. Knew I should have stuck Fords…

You mightn’t have been any better-off:
Common 2017 Ford truck transmission problems include harsh shifting, slipping, loss of power which are linked to the 10-speed automatic (10R80) transmission introduced in some models. Other issues include gear slipping and sudden downshifts, and a specific recall was issued for a "Park" function problem due to a missing roll pin in some 10-speed transmissions. For the 6-speed transmission, problems can include shuddering and slipping.

heater core failed
Did it start leaking or is the heat just not hot? If it's the latter these trucks are notorious for clogged heater cores that can be fairly easily fixed.

The 66RFE has been in use for years, maybe the dealership can't get parts but I'd be willing to bet a transmission shop has people that can rebuild. The 68RFE is an almost identical transition but it has a higher torque rating as it's found behind the Cummins. The two transmissions share a bunch of parts.

As for one brand of truck over another, all the manufacturers have their hits and misses with vehicles. There's been hundreds of people that have floated in and out of their forum swearing up and down *** brand is a PoS and will never buy another one. Usually the problem is the dealership and the skill level of their techs.
Ford's 10R80 transmission doesn't have the greatest track record and neither does it's GM twin sibling (they co-developed it together).

Not sure if you saw this thread.... it's my successful plight of flushing my core. Actually pretty easy. Post #6 is the heart of it.

As for the tranny, I've been through two failures/rebuilds fixed at the dealer and sourcing parts was always a PITA. I think both times it was there for over a month.

Thanks I will check that out. Saying I need a new heater core, try this instead.

Yeah it’s been at dealer 6 weeks now. Called Chrysler and they have it as emergency/VOR and they just say sorry we’ll let you know when we hear something.. so not much help there for parts.

It’s the torques converter, can buy a new one for $255 (if it will ever show) or drop it, run it to a shop 3 hours away to get it rebuilt for $800. So kinda in a jam

Yes X 1000!! Heater core on these trucks (and most vehicles for that matter) are incredibly difficult. On these trucks the entire dash, steering column, etc. needs to come out. Probably a several thousand dollar job at least. I flushed my heater core for $40 and a couple hours of my time.

Telltale sign is weak heat on the driver's side but could just be weak heat anywhere. No matter what if it's not leaking, try a flush.
