Transmission has been slipping and not wanting to shift past second. I just replaced the gov. Pressure sensor, and solenoid, filled it with fluid, took it out on the road and it ran great for about three miles. Turned around to head back to town, heard what sounded like a backfire, and back to the same ole crap. This time it's worse though, hardly even goes into gear at all now. Now what? Very discouraged!!!

Check your trans lines first then start it. Put E-brake on then put it in neutral and check the trans fluid.

Just had to try it this morning, got in it started it up, and it went into gear perfectly. Wasn't able to take it out on the road, but I will after work to see what happens. Could the small backfire sound I heard possibly be a air pocket it the torque converter? Maybe it burped?

By checking the lines, what am I checking for, kinks, blockages? Just wondering, not trying to ask stupid questions. Would this cause too much pressure in the tranny, and overheating, which is why it only does it when it's hot?
