Fuzzy Logic... Simple as that! When folks started bellyaching about torque converter lockup "feel" back in the early 90's, manufacturers began letting the damned converter clutch slip and slide into lockup so's granny's fanny didn't feel the bump. For a while, I was replacing converters as they were gold commodities, especially in "F" body cars (Camaro/TransAm) and modified trucks with oversized tires back in those days. As computer strategies evolved, they got better with it. Due to the precision that this controlled "slip" was designed within tight parameters, it took little to burn up converters.... Enter "fuzzy Logic" programming that allowed adaptations to be made on the fly, and that small change to your tire circumference isn't going to be a big issue for the transmission's health in today's space age computer technology. I'd see if there is a program to address this small difference so that officer friendly doesn't write you a ticket in some one horse town!
