Transmission went into limp mode

My first real issue with the truck this far. 52,000 miles. I left a job and on the first shift it felt weird. Went straight from 1st to 4th. I drove a couple of miles and then pulled over. During those miles all I had was 1st and 4th. I turned off the truck and back on. Shifted fine the rest of the way home. No check engine light. I've never had a slip of any kind with the transmission. Temperature was in the 160s.

I have had the bogging issue on slow turns kat guys on here have, like it needs to downshift sometimes but don't. Other then that it's been perfect.

Have you had the transmission solenoid update, or whatever it’s called, done to your truck yet? That could be a cause.

I will have to check. I've had a few recalls but not sure what they were for.

Had the same thing and needed the solenoid replaced.

I have not but plan too soon. It hasn't done it since then but I need to go in anyways for tailgate recall and oil change

I just had the same happen last month on my 2015 2500 at 58K miles. Ram ended up replacing the valve body and shift solenoid.

I've driven a few hundred miles and it hasn't happened again. Haven't towed yet though.
