What year model are we talking about?

Is your TV cable hooked up and working properly? The Throttle Valve Cable attaches to the right side of the throttle body and also to the throttle valve lever on the left side of the transmission. If the cable is out of adjustment the throttle valve will not receive the correct pressure and therefore will not allow a shift to occur. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears are fully hydraulic and do not require any electrical inputs to make a shift happen.

Set the parking brake and chock the wheels. Have an assistant sit in the truck to operate the accelerator pedal.

Lay under the truck on the left side of the trans and watch the TV cable while your assistant presses the pedal. You should see the lever travel front to rear when the pedal is pressed and released.
