Just want to put it out there for all to read. I have heard nothing but bad stories about the transmissions in rams. I have a 2016 ram rebel that I use for work. I’m a flooring contractor with floor grinders and all kinds of stuff. I have a 16’ trailer that when loaded down is around 7k towable lbs. I have pulled that tho g for years and also have loaded down on a ton of time pallets of concrete. Typically 2500 lbs per pallets. Took out air shocks at 187k…replaced engine at 260k. Replaced cam and lifter at 350k and now I’m still running at 405k…ORIGINAL TRANS still and rear end. Just thought I’d put it out that they are not all bad.

It was the predecessors to the 8HP transmissions that sorta shaded Dodge/Ram with the bad transmission aura.
The 8HP transmissions are probably one of the best things Ram decided to use, not many problems reported with them.
As for longevity, there is a member that uses his '14 EcoDiesel to deliver travel trailers around the country. The transmission finally failed somewhere around 750K miles, there have been a few other trucks reported with +400K miles on them and still going.
