Hey All,

Probably a silly question but I'm asking it anyway. I just got a 2019 with eTorque and was trying to confirm if there's any reason leaving it on a trickle charger is a bad idea. If it weren't for the eTorque system I don't think I'd even question it, but I don't know if there are any components related to that that'd get upset by a trickle charge. Presumably not, since you can do things like jump start the vehicle as you normally would, but I guess I figured I'd reach out and see if anyone had opinions on this.

Thanks.
Andy

I have a 2019 E Torque that I just drive on occasion and when I am not gonna use it for a long time, I put it on an Optima Digital 400 charger and I have been doing so for 6 months. No problems

Did you read through the owner's manual to see if there was anything in there about it? I'd think the manual would say something if there was a potential issue with doing that.

I did read through the entire manual over the weekend (I got the truck on Friday) and though admittedly some of it was skimmed, I don't recall seeing anything about it, but did fully read the section on jump starting and there was nothing in there that deviated from how I'd jump start any other 12V vehicle, which I'm taking as a clue that it should be fine, but I'm just trying to be extra careful. I'll likely flip through the manual again.

I had a Battery Tender on mine during the Michigan shut down because I figured I wasn't going anywhere any too soon. I have one that's on the battery of my 1969 Camaro and another that I was using on my Jeep that was just sitting. I switched the one I was using on the Jeep back and forth between the two.

Cool. Yeah I said trickle charger but actually what I have is a Battery Tender Plus, so it's go the smarts to switch between float charge and such. I have used one on a 300ZX TT I have forever and it has been fine, and I used one on my 4runner (which I just traded in on this Ram) and that was great, too.
