My truck is an '08 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. Lately I've noticed that it sometimes has trouble starting. If I turn it on, run it for a bit, turn it off, then back on again then it's fine. If I turn it on, don't let it run for a long time before turning it off, and then try to start it again then it struggles. Doesn't come up too often, but when it does it's a point of concern. The confusing thing is though, once it's been run for a bit, it doesn't matter how long it sits. I can leave it for a week and it starts up fine. But if it hasn't had a chance to run or idle for a bit between starts, it gives me trouble. Any thoughts?

Sounds like possibly a failing fuel pump if you prime it a few times and it fires right up that is your issue also when was the last time plugs where done ect?

I will give it a try tonight. I haven't done the plugs myself on this truck, but I think I have had them done in the past few years. I can check those as well, though I would think it would give me the same kind of trouble starting regardless if it was them. The strange thing is that it only does this if there's less than 2 minutes between starts. I'll check on the pump priming tonight after work though. I assume turning the key to the on position a few times without starting the truck would do this?

Yes to prime the pump turn key on without starting few times another possibility is a leaky/sticky injector run some seafoam in the fuel.
