troubleshooting amp and speaker upgrade 8.4 non-alpine

well, I bought a JL audio RD 900/5 amp and speakers to upgrade my 2018 ram. I ran the wires, amp turns on, but not getting any sound. I tapped all 4 speakers behind the HU connected with Kicker RCA adapters. From the Kicker adapters, I ran RCAs to the amp set to high level inputs. Ran speaker wire back to the HU and connected to the wires running to the speakers. I have read a couple posts about needing resistance placed inline so the HU senses a load. Is this correct? I'm stumped. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it needs a resistance load to play. Not sure about jl but my 5 channel kicker amp has it built in so only needed the kicker speaker wire to rca adapters

Do you know what and where I could buy what I need?

I know net audio makes a harness that they can put that in for you but sounds like you have already spliced all ur wires so no reason to buy the harness lol you could call them and see what size resister they use for that because I'm not sure on size since I didnt need one

Just go to your local install bay and ask for some 100ohm resistors.

What colours are the rear speaker wires. Im almost ready to install. But i dont have the alpine system. I have the kicker rca box what else do i need? Other then a amp and subs

I know they need to be wired in parallel. What's the cleanest way to wire in the resistors?

Just an fyi, soldered in 150ohm .5w resistors and everything works
