I installed two LED backup lights. The previous LED lights had died. One works, the other does not. My challenge is the friggin' truck shifts to park from reverse (even with the emergency brake set) when you get out of it and then, of course, no power goes to the backup lights.

Is there a work around to keep the backup lights on so I can check voltage, etc?

I would first check the polarity on the LED bulb not working, maybe turn it 180 and see if that works. For checking back up lights, just turn the key, or push button to the "run" position, set the parking brake, and shift it into reverse. I think that is the question your asking.

I agree check the polarity 99.9% of LED are Polarity sensitive so first try 180Deg turn !
That's the first thing i would do ! the easiest !

Thanks! That didn't work. However, plugging in the seatbelt did work (along with setting the emergency brake and chocking the tires).

It turns out the light fits a bit loose. If I hit a big bump, the light moves enough that it loses connection. I pulled the tail light and removed the socket. I got it to work and it went out whilst reinstalling it. I put a bit of tape on the edge and for now it works. Fingers crossed. Won't buy that light again.

At least you found the problem, and hopefully your fix will hold up.

Well who would have thought ya had to plug the seat belt! Just spent 30 minutes checking fuses, bulbs and neutral safety switch and all I had to do is plug in the seat belt! No wonder I wasn't getting power anywhere I probed! Know I know how an Alien feels when they probe a Chevy or Ford owner!:D LOL Thanks! I should have checked here 1st!
