Well my second ram caught fire today. Not really sure what started the fire. Engine temp was normal had no leaks and she drove fine. Fire dept says that electrical fires are the most common on vehicles. Im pretty upset I lost the truck I had such good plans for her to build and slowly make nicer.

Well that sucks! Anyway the 4th gens are pretty sweet. The only thing you really need to watch out for is Hemi tick and I've only seen a couple with the 3.0 Ecodiesel burn to the ground, none with Hemi's that I can remember.

Man I lost a hemi in this fire. The fire got so hot that aluminum was melting. I can only imagine what the heads must look like under all the melted plastic

Sorry for your loss. You should really enjoy the 4th gen ,I love mine ,plus they seem to get better mileage also. Good luck on you search for a new one with prices as they are. Maybe you can salvage some things from your truck to help offset the new one.

Sorry for your loss. That was a clean truck! 4th Gens are great as long as they are maintained. My 12 still faithfully serves me daily.

HELP
Did you get anything From FCA? I picked my 2016 eco diesel Limited up from the dealer, Next day, driving to the office engine caught fire, Truck burned to the Ground.
Not even a follow up from The dealership after reporting the Fire
Nationwide Auto Insurance Sub par Handling of this.

Stay away from the 4th gen. Your cam and lifters WILL go out. The pos cylinder deactivation will fail over time and take your whole engine out. Theres a reason i stay with 03 to 05 hemis.

Large majority of 4th Gen Hemi's never have Cam and Lifters issues. There's a chance it may happen ( yes, we are all rolling a dice here) And, one does not have to replace the whole engine if that happens. Red Line 5w30 oil seems to help with Hemi tick. Also, 2011's seem to have the highest number of the failure. Good luck with your decision.
