I just had a Borla ProXS muffler and Moe's 5'' tips installed about a week ago... IM LOVING IT!... But, ive noticed when slowing down, especially in the lower gears, my truck seems to hold gears for a really long time before down shifting. I really notice it in the 20mph and under range. It feels like my truck wants to keep going and I really have to use the brakes to force the truck to slow down. I have no other mods done to affect the engine or drivetrain.

Should I unhook the Negative on my battery to reset the computer? Has anyone noticed this? Is my truck just telling me to keep my foot in the skinny pedal so I can keep hearing that sweet music?

I didn't notice anything like this with my aftermarket muffler.

Thats strange because I noticed it immediately after getting it installed. My truck has to be basically at a dead stop before it shifts down into 1st gear.

I think if I let the truck just "idle away" it would get to 3rd gear all on its own...

This is the thing that annoy me the most about this truck, the adaptive learning is just dumb. If I decide to do some spirited driving one evening, the next morning the truck will still want to have fun and will shift from 1 to 2 at 4k rpm with very light gas pedal input, but 5min later it will be back to normal.

Be gentle on the skinny pedal for a few stop and go miles and it should come back to normal or unplug the battery to speed up the process.

I was reading about a throttle learning process for new throttle bodies. Will this help with the adaptive learning ?

Im having just the opposite happen to me. when Accelerating it shifts just fine, even too early in my opinion... but Decelerating, especially at slower speeds, I find the truck holds the gears until it absolutely has to shift.

For example, lets say im 3rd gear coming to a red light on a flat, level road. If I take my foot off the brake while slowing down the truck will actually GAIN speed... And my RPMs arent out of the ordinary.

And for me to shift into 1st gear I have to be completely stopped. If im even going 5mph the truck will stay in 2nd gear, and I have to ride the brake to keep it from accelerating.

I get the same slowing condition if I tap the throttle when coming to a stop. Sounds great with the open exhaust. It eventually downshifts normally within a few seconds.

That's why I'm wondering if the throttle needs to be relearned.

play around with it in tow haul. typically downshifts early to help avoid brakes. sounds awesome with an exhaust.
