Anyone watch Truck Tech this weekend? They put an edelbrock supercharger on a 2013 quad cab ram. Made respectable power.

Yup!! Petty cool add on. $7500 for the kit is a little tough haha

I did set up the DVR for the future mods too though

Not sure why you'd buy a rebranded edelbrock supercharger instead of just buying the edelbrock kit...

I laughed at what they did... I thought maybe they should do a little research as how to improve power in the real world. maybe about 5% (if that) of ram owners will spend the bucks to super charge it... There is so much more to stuff than the charger... just my .02 but they should have started with the real world everyday mans add ons then moved to the huffer. Kinda think those shows put the car before the horse and a lot of times don't show realistic options to what its viewers will and actually can do.

I'll be curious as to what they do to the throttle body, air box, dampener, or any other not so expensive supporting mod....

The one thing I did notice is I think the Vararam would fit with the E-force though.

Those shows are funded by companies like edelbrock, so bolting on a kit like that is easy to do. They don't care about the miniscule gains you'd see from each individual bolt on when you can strap a blower on and see a 100rwhp gain, it's all about the wow factor. How many shows do you see that show how to properly install a rotating assembly, or differential gears? That kind of stuff would be awesome for the everyday guy to learn but that's not what pays the bills.

True, and I know this but it still bugs me. And the one show is Gearz by Stacy David. Just wish he would film more. If I had the money and the shop like his I would make a show that produced a lot of shows based on the forums and real world situations what the actual consumer desires...
If only I were rich....

I still watch them to learn new products though, but laugh at a lot of their techniques

I'm pretty sure that 1538 is the part number.....I wish that was the price. That would be a pretty sick deal!

I guess that kit is only for the 8 speed guys?

"Notes: Not for use with 6-speed transmissions."

Edelbrock offers a 3 year 36,000 mile powertrain warranty on the truck if you put their kit on a stock truck and use their tuning. It is actually a really good deal, but with all the 5/6 speed transmission failures, I dont blame them for not wanting to warranty a kit for those trucks. The supercharger will work on a 5/6 speed truck, but you would be on your own in the event that something breaks.

If they offered 2015 tuning with their kits, I would already have 1 installed on my new 2015.
