Tuner worth it for 13 sport?

Iv heard that for 2013 and 2014 models with 8 speed transmission with diablo sport there is no transmission tuning available only 2015+

So then Is getting a tuner even worth it? The rave has been to get a diablo tuner but if thats true then what's the best brand to go with?

its well worth it if your gonna get a custom tune. i believe hp tuners has 2014 trans tuning i assume that will includes 2013 but im not certain.

HP has tranny tuning available for the 14's as stated.Check with jay greene as he can do a stacked Diablo engine tune and a HP tranny tune for the earlier 8speeds,if that's what you want,but personally HP's engine tuning parameters are better then Diablo's CMR platforms tuning parameters.The downside is the HP tune is more money then a Diablo tune. If you buy yourself a cheap tablet you can load several HP tunes on it,and use it like Diablo's handheld for swapping multiple tunes

I'm sure you mean go "quick".... 3:21's should be the fastest gearset all else being constant.

I put a tuner with a custom tune by Hemifever on my 13 sports with 6 speed and it made more of a difference performance wise than any other mod I installed on the truck.

The way the 8 speed trans is geared an 8 speed w/ 3.21's is still a lower overall geared truck than a 6 speed w/ 3.92's. So, yes, it is worth bothering to make a 8 speed/3.21 truck quick due to trans gearing

A motor tune even w/o the trans being tune is absolutely worth it. Thats all the 8 speed guys had for a few yrs. I dropped 7 tenths in the 1/4 w/ JUST the motor tuned, stock trans tune and manually shifting over the stock motor tune

I ran just a custom engine tune for over a year before the trans tuning was released and yes without a doubt it is worth just tuning the engine IMO.

How much is the HP tuner?

Check with Jay Greene,he can do either a custom HP engine and tranny tune,or he can stack an HP tranny tune with a Diablo engine tune,depends on which way you want to go.

Diablo w/ custom tune in my opinion. A gear swap would be right up there in seat of pants gains though

I agree with Gary----but I'd save up and do both. If you do, I almost guarantee you'll be smiling every time you drive your truck.
