i have a 2015 1500 with factory LED taillights. I recently had a low beam light go out. No big deal. Then it started telling me left rear turn out. Later that day, Right rear turn signal. Headlight was legit out. Replaced bulb, no more message. Still getting warnings on both rear turn signals with fast clicking/flashing on the dash. Front and rear signals are working and flash at normal speed. Side mirror signals flash faster but I don’t know if that’s normal as I never paid attention. Only thing I can figure is it looks like both rear lights have several individual LEDs out. Do I have to replace the whole unit? Appears to be glued together (can’t get inside to look at LEDs). I found similar posts/threads but all of them died with no resolution or answers. Anyone know?

The loss of individual LED bulbs is read as a below acceptable threshold low voltage draw by the Canbus system and therefore it reports a failed turn signal.

The tiny LED's can be replaced. It means you have to pull the tail lights apart, identify the failed LEDs, find LEDs of the same value, desolder and remove the failed LEDs and install the new ones by soldering them in.

The time spent and cost of the bulbs (probably a minimum order needed) plus having others eventually fail would lead me to just replace the tail light assembly.

Thanks. That’s kind of what I thought. Now to see if I can find some at a reasonable cost.

Nope. Still just living with it. It comes and goes. Three LEDs on each side sometimes work, sometimes don’t. One day I’m going to become ambitious enough to cut the back out with a dremel to see if I can find loose connection or resoulder the led bulbs on a circuit board or something.

Try disconnecting the battery. I had similar issue to this and I disconnected the battery overnight about 10 - 12 hours and then drove it the next morning and it was still showing it and then after about 3-5 minutes it went away

Of course you do, you’re a dealer.
Kinda defeats the purpose of having a forum.
We post here so we don’t need have to go to a dealer.
