Hi, New to the forum . Hoping I'm in the correct place for my cry for help.
I purchased my first diesel vehicle in July, a 2016 2500 ccctd. One of the features I liked about it was the puddle lights on the tow mirrors.
Got home only to find out they didn't work. Long story short, 2-1/2 weeks at the dealership and several "stories" about why they didn't work the dealer called today to tell me that my truck won't accept the puddle light mirrors. These apparently aren't the mirrors the truck came with from the factory!
WHAT!!??
Can my puddle lights be made to work or not?
I'm rapidly losing confidence in this dealership and in particular the service manager.
Any help or ideas will be very appreciated.

Welcome to RamForum.

If they are OEM mirrors that were added to a truck without the option, the dealer can flash the truck's computer with the sales code and they should work...unless the harness isn't there to support the puddle lights.

Ask them about flashing the sales code for those mirrors to your truck.

They should be able to flash the codes needed for them to work.... the codes needed are LEB/LEC and LEG I believe.

Thanks! I'll ask about the flash first thing tomorrow and report back.
How do I add a picture to my info on the left of the screen?

If the dealer can't add the codes, then look at the AlfaObd thread to activate features yourself. SW & interface are about $130.

M² Mods.

Do you mean adding an "avatar" (pic) to your online profile?

Look to the upper right on any forum page. You'll see your forum name there. Click on your forum name and you'll be taken to your account Personal Details page.

The second item from the top of the page is titled "Avatar". To the right is a picture blank. Clicking on that blank will allow you to upload a picture from your computer as your avatar.

The "Avatar Editor" popup box will appear. To the right is a button "Use a custom avatar". Click on that.

Then, down below is another button titled "Choose File". Click on that and then navigate through your computer to the folder that holds your pictures and select the picture you wish to use by double clicking on it.

Once you have selected your picture, click on the "Okay" button at the bottom of the Avatar Editor box.

You will be returned to your account Personal Details page. Scroll to the bottom and click on the "Save Changes" button and you are done.

Talked with the dealer today. Turns out the person who bought this truck in Aug of 16 had these mirrors put on this truck from his trade-in. This truck shipped from the factory with heated power mirrors but no puddle lights. Dealer claims puddle lights won't work on my truck. He claims to have flashed the codes supplied on this site, twice with no results. He's talking to some engineer tomorrow in hopes he will have a solution. I think something smells here!
