Tyger Running Boards Installed

Installed some Tyger running boards so that my wife and kids can climb into the truck. I did a ton of research before buying and landed on these due to these factors: flat vs oval, full length vs just steps at the doors, price efficient, least amount of negative reviews that personally scared me off from other brands, and looks (wanted something without chrome). Install Difficulty: 1.5/5 stars
Everything came well packaged. There arent too many different parts. CHECK BRACKETS AGAINST PICTURE FROM PARTS LIST AS THEY ARENT ALL CORRECTLY LABELED. This is the most common negative review I saw so I was prepared. There are interchangeable brackets so I think they just grab by shape and not how they are stamped. The only thing that really took me much time was trying to figure out how to best get the gold mounting bracket lined up inside the sheet metal. After I figured it out the first time it took only a few seconds to line up the second time. I used my finger to hold the gold bracket in place through the upper hole while i attached the bolt through the mounting bracket. Other than that, if you can put something from Ikea together you 100% can do this yourself. Overall from unpacking to finish took 2 hours and 15 minutes to do by myself.

Looks: 6/5 stars. I am super happy with how nice these look.

Will have to see how they hold up over time, but they seem incredibly sturdy. I will be sure to get some better pictures next time I get her out of the garage. I highly recommend this mod from both a function and asthetics perspective.

Have a set on my truck for the past 2 years - they hold up nicely. Also looks good on your rig.

I installed the Blades. Like the look, but installation was incredibly difficult and slots catch dogs nails so I have to put mats on when entering exiting truck. Back to installation. Many trucks appear to already have attaching bolts welded to truck but my 2018 did not. The kit comes with 6 sets of 2 bolts welded on a plate that you slide into frame holes. The end plates went right in but despite over an hour of attempt and a call to help line (they only take a message and never actually let you talk with tech help) I gave up to wait for an answer After emails back and forth they finally admitted the plates for middle brackets were different and would ship to me. Two weeks later nevet received, they stopped responding and I modified the brackets I had to work. Will use different brand on future trucks.

The blades looked cool but i just saw tiny feet slipping through in my head so i passed on that style. Odd that they would use a different way to attach too it sounds. Unfortunate because now that ive done them i could probably do another set in just over an hour for the style i got

I like the ones pictured at the beginning off the thread, wish I got those instead. Yep, things slipping in there is a good reason to pass on mine.

Same here. I've had the stainless version for two years and they are still like new. I also have the Tyger soft tri-fold tonneau cover for a year. I've been impressed with the Tyger products given their reasonable prices.

Now you got me interested in their regular cab star armor bars. It's so hard to find something for lifted/leveled regular cabs that those may just be my next ones.
