Santa just dropped off my PA 3" body lift and HBS 2.5" level....

Because its winter, 20 degrees F and snowing I don't feel like installing this stuff myself in the driveway, so I'm off to the local shop to see if they will put this on the truck.... what's a fair price range to do the work?

You're prob looking at $500+ depending on the shop hourly rate.

If youre capable of doing it yourself I would just wait till you get a warmer day, or see if theres a local diy shop you can rent a bay in.

Plus I always think of it this way - if I dont make more $$ per hour than what I get charged and im capable of doing the work, then I cant justify the cost of paying someone else to do it.

Im gettting my 3" body and 4.5" lift spindles installed for $450 (without alignment).

I got my level installed at the dealership (dumb idea) but that cost $300 with alignment.

Body lift is VERY time consuming with hand tools. Probably 8-10 hours. So alot of shops dont have the time to do it, so they will charge up the ass! 4wdparts wanted $800 for the bodylift installation.

I say if you can find someone under $500 thats a good deal, if not I would keep shopping around, do it yourself, or put a post on craigslist for a cheaper price.

+1 on installing level yourself. Very good learning experience. Not meaning you don't know how to wrench but I just get satisfaction out of doing something myself andnkkowing its done right.
I paid to have my 6" lift installed because I was out on a job and I drove the truck 400 miles with the steering loose! I only found it because I went to install bilsteins myself.

I agree wait till spring and do it yourself. It's worth the 8-10 hours of work in my opinion to save that much coin.

Yep, do it yourself. Save a lot of money and you will appreciate it more because you did it. It's really not that big of a problem if you just take your time and dont rush.
