Cruising down the NJ Turnpike today at 70 Mph. All the sudden the truck went into limp mode. Engine light, traction control, and a red light I couldn’t identify went on as well as a message about the brake controller. The info for the U1424 is scarce, but it has something to do with the CAN receiving a bad signal. Anyone have any ideas?

U1424 can be a trick DTC. The diagnostics for this code are very vague so here is what I do...

There is a TSB that refers to this DTC.

TSB 18-021-17 is applicable to the
2013-2015 DS trucks. This TSB is for performing a flash update to the PCM with the latest software.

I would give your local dealer a call and give the service advisor your VIN to see if your truck is still withing the 8/80 Emissions Warranty, depending on year and mileage of your truck.

Worst case scenario you pay an hour of labor to have them flash the PCM and be done.
