I have an 8.4" screen and my screen will go black randomly when I'm driving. Whenever my screen goes black my door controls stop working (except I'm able to roll down my rear windows from my driver's door controls), I also lose my climate control and heated/vented seats and steering wheel.
My screen and all controls work if my push button start is in acc then I will lose it when I start the truck.
Any body seen anything like this before?
I have tried resetting the screen and unplugging the batterys for 1 hour

Sounds like some sort of software bug or possibly a pinched/ damaged/ loose wire somewhere. Has anyone been messing around under the dash recently? Is your truck still under warranty? If it is, it may be time to use it.

I know what you mean. The dealership is always my last resort for anything.

I'll preface this by saying, that for me anyways, I knew there would be UConnect issues before I even bought my truck. It didn't deter me from purchase as warranty was there, and then when it would become to much BS for me to want to deal with it any longer, I'd take care of it myself.

So:
I had the exact same scenario occur on my 19' with the same UConnect system.
The first two times they uploaded the latest software updates and it was marginal at best the remedy to the issues.

The dealership then opened up a case file with FCA who in turn authorized a replacement unit, and it was brand new and not a refurb one.

FFWD five or six months and the damn this was doing it again, plus dropping calls randomly. Not connecting at times, shutting off while driving and not coming back on until I pulled over and physically shut the truck off and restarted it.

They tried one more latest update and that worked for a very short time and then bricked again.

I had enough and took care of it!
I now have a new Kenwood double din Excelon Preference head unit with all the CanBus thingys installed, and voila, not a single issue, and every single option and control I had on my stock UConnect was still present, and even more!

Thanks everyone for the input

Stupid screen is probably freaking out not knowing if a 'bulb out' icon should be turning on. These constant problems with that screen are about the ONLY thing stalling my decision in spring/summer. I can deal with a glitch so long as it's repaired right one time, not going back over and over to the same nitwits.

I have a 2018 2500 ram with similar issues. Started at bout 48,000 mi. Screen go black, might come back on in 5 seconds 0r 5 min. but when it did, i lost backup camera and cabin temp. controls. Still under warranty so dealer replaced radio with no success. Radio has been replaced 3 more times thinking it might be bad refurbished radio but still does same thing. Will always reset back to normal after sitting over night. One dealer tech dug a little deeper into it and said the problem was a security module not the radio but module is $500 with no guarantee of a fix. Have tried all hard and soft resets with no luck. Anyone have ideas or do u live with it?

Now mine started doing this! Blanks and stays out when I crank the truck.
Wow! Checked my tail lights and sure enough the left one has water in it. Turns out, when I disconnect the "Blind Spot Sensor" in the light assembly, the problem goes away (and comes right back when I reconnect that sensor).
Will be looking for a replacement, Just saved big $$$$ by checking this forum!

Awesome news, you found the problem source.

And by sharing your experience, you will likely save others who are having this grief.

Thanks for contributing.

BTW, you may find methods to refurbish the taillight by using the search in the upper-right corner or searching on YouTube. Or where to find a deal on replacements.

Appreciate the catch, @RamDiver! Apologies on my end for any confusion.

Well, if this user ever happens to come back online, at least they'll know where to find us.

LOL, they sometimes come back after a few months, but not too often after several years.

No worries, I thought you might find that last seen window useful.
When someone resurrects an older thread, many of us get caught.
