Uconnect updates?

so do any of you know if there will be a software update to the 8.4 system in our trucks supporting apple car play or android auto? Makes no sense to me why it works in the “c” car models and not in trucks! Any insight would be much appreciated.

The hardware is different in your 2017 8.4 radio so an update won't make it work.

It's possible to install the 2018 8.4 radio that supports CarPlay/AA in your truck. We have a how to thread with PNs/info....

Trust me and many others here would certainly vouch ..... Mpgrimm2 is over the top THE MAN !
When it comes to Q's about pretty much anything electrical with the 4th gens .

Thanks and he deserves kudos for his efforts! With the hardware change needed, personally I might consider an Alpine alternative but overall the stock system meets my needs other than car play and android auto.
