Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. Bought a 2017 rebel used with 30,000 km a few months ago and just noticed yesterday my exhaust tips stick out at different lengths. One is about flush with the rear bumper and the other sticks out about an inch or more. I can’t imagine that’s how it’s supposed to be? Is it? Any chance it’s a defect that warranty would cover? Any help appreciated thanks.

Same thing on mine. Though it was the muffler places doing when they put my Flowmaster in. They are going to fix it when I get tips out on.

If it’s factory then it’s all bolted in. Loosen the clamp which holds that pipe to the muffler and push it in till it bottoms out. You may need a second set of hands, or a small crowbar underneath for leverage. You can even looosen all three straps (single in double out) and push the muffler and both pipes forward to make sure everything is nice and tight.

Edit: a shop may charge a minimal fee ($10-$20) to do it real quick for you if you rather not do it yourself.

Good info and he is right, but if I remember correctly from when I changed my exhaust to Gibson, you should be able to just loosen the bolts on the tips and push the tips back to the desired location and retighten. I also have seen YouTube videos showing people using a 2x4 pushed flat against their hitch receiver to get both tips lined up evenly. Hope this helps.

If I’m not mistaken, the tips are on a fixed pivot point. Where you can only move the around in a circle to center them. At least that’s what I remember when I upgraded my muffler. I could be wrong.

Thanks guys for the responses, sounds like I can probably handle it without having to bring it to a shop.
