Quick update: Couple hiccups, first I need more parts. Clutch was no good and it appears my flywheel is a paper weight as well. You can see what everything looked like when I opened it up(Seller told me it sat outside so I knew it could be bad). Next pic you can see the heat cracks I uncovered when I started cleaning it up. Looking at a shade over $600 for the flywheel and clutch.

Second my daily trusty rusty '00 Mitsubishi Montero Sport needed $600 in parts to be road worthy again. Lower radiator support mounts rusted off. So I cut the front clip apart. Replaced the radiator support, bumper bracket, A/C condensor, radiator and while I had the whole nose off and everything was easier to get at I did both UCAs, upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends and had an alignment done.

Basically if my trusty rusty hadn't broken down I'd probably be done with this swap by now

So, the pedals from a 4th gen CTD fit perfect, absolutely zero modifying anything. The hole and boot are already in the firewall too for the clutch hydraulics, just have to poke a hole in it. The shifter boot from the '06 donor truck fit perfectly in my '11. That tells me that the shifter boot from when they did the interior update and started using the G56 in '06 to current is the same part

I got bored and started doing a few odds and ends prepping for the swap, haven't started to tackle it yet, still waiting for that magic money tree fruit to get ripe Hopefully I can put my OT from planting season towards it otherwise it'll have to wait until my profit sharing bonus in July after detasselling. It'll either happen in June or August, May and July are way too busy.

Any Chance of swapping something similar in a 2009 1500 5.7 with the 545RFE? I would love to switch to a 6-Speed Manual and would love the piece of mind too. I am all bolt on and will Cam down the road, but no boost for me. It's my Daily and mess around in the mud truck.

Very interested in the PCM re programing and if they were able to tune out the automatic inputs.

Probably a Ram 4000 tuning can be use. Here on Mexico we still get a 5-speed manual (Tremec TR-4050) behind the 5.7 even on the 5gen heavy duty.
